Senior Planner - Permanent  (Birmingham)

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join our client's team, working on a major Birmingham Station project. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in the successful delivery of rail infrastructure, collaborating closely with project teams and stakeholders. 

Location: Hybrid role – 2-3 days onsite. 

Contract Type: Permanent (preferred), but open to contractors. 

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000, depending on experience. 

Your Role:

As a senior planner, you will be responsible for:

Developing and managing project programmes, ensuring alignment with project milestones and objectives. 

Reviewing and assessing contractor programme submissions in line with NEC requirements

Managing NEC change control processes, identifying risks, and implementing solutions. 

Overseeing monthly schedule reporting, ensuring clear and accurate project tracking. 

Supporting project teams with P6 expertise, ensuring schedules remain efficient and realistic. 

Communicating complex scheduling data in a clear, concise, and direct manner to various stakeholders. 

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience in rail project planning, ideally within station developments, civils, and M&E works. 

Expertise in Primavera P6, with the ability to analyse and optimise project schedules. 

Strong understanding of NEC contract frameworks and change control processes. 

Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. 

A proactive and assertive individual, capable of working independently and within teams.
